Artist Biography

I’ve been doing theatre since I was a child growing up in the NY metropolitan area. As the suburbs were not my idea of ‘a life’ (!) as soon as possible, I headed for the Big Apple to begin my training at a little theatre called ‘Circle in the Square’ in the West Village. (For those of you who are not familiar with it, ‘Circle in the Square’ has since moved ‘uptown’ and is actually a main Broadway theatre!) After that wonderful initiation to drama school and still at a very tender age, I signed up to do scene study and acting technique classes with William Hickey at HB Studios. I became his youngest adoring student as he took on the role of my mentor and guide for the next 3 years!

I then went on to do a 3-year classical drama training in London at E-15 Acting School. We did it all - acted in the classics, (Shakespeare, Ibsen, Chekhov, just to name a few...) and contemporary theatre; improvisation; movement; commercials; voice work and accents; not to mention clowning, karate and horseback riding! You name it! It was some of the most rewarding time of my life as I was exposed to incredibly innovative methods working with amazing people from around the world.

I spent several more years in Europe, teaching and traveling before returning to the States. Since settling in Northern California, I've joined Actor’s Equity and have performed in theatres around the San Francisco Bay Area and further afield. My passion for the craft of acting has expanded to include voice over work and narration.

My most exciting work to date in voice over has been hosting my own weekly story hour on public radio in Northern CA for seven years. It was a fantastic experience, affording me the opportunity to discover and play with oh, so many character voices through reading classic children's and adult literature from cover to cover - live on the air! My experience also includes independent film narration, telephone message systems, animation and recording books for Broadcast Services for the Blind.

I love this work and am thrilled to be involved with it!

I have a home recording studio where I live on the beautiful Northern California coast with my partner and our terrific 14 year old daughter, our two doggies, Koala and Kaliska, and Bumpers the Cat. Yup! you could say, “It’s the good life!”

I appreciate your interest and welcome any questions you may have about my background or recording services. Thanks so much for taking the time to check out the demos on my home page too!
